Fort Point Wedding Photos
As a San Francisco wedding photographer, I spend lots of time with my couples taking Fort Point wedding photos. If you are getting married in San Francisco, or looking for an engagement session location, Fort Point is a popular choice because of the wonderful view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
You can take photos in the area outside Fort Point usually without any restrictions.
Inside Fort Point
You can take photos inside Fort Point when it is open to the public. Fort Point operates on a seasonal schedule.
About Fort Point
Fort Point of San Francisco, California is a historic fortification located on southern side of the Golden Gate Bridge at the entrance to the San Francisco Bay. It was originally named the “Castillo de San Joaquin” by the Spanish.
The fort was completed just before the American Civil War by the United States Army. The fort is now protected as the Fort Point National Historic Site, a United States National Historic Site administered by the National Park Service.
Today, Fort Point serves as a unique vantage point for viewing the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge’s towering red-orange towers frame the fort in a stunning contrast of old and new, creating an iconic backdrop for photos and a serene spot for contemplation.
